The greek primordial embodiment of the earth, Gaia is life.

Born from chaos, Gaia gave structure to the primordial landscape and conceived the earth. Through loneliness she created her mate, the sky, and gave birth to countless offspring; Time, the Fates, the Muses, the Oceans. She is the mother from whom all gods and life itself descend.

Her energy is maternal, warm, nurturing and joyous. But she is also the great destroyer, unpredictable and wrathful. She enticed her son to kill her mate the sky when he rejected her imperfect children. As creator, she is to be loved, as an embodiment of chaos, she's to be respected.

This is the perfect gift for those transitioning into motherhood or for your own collection as a reminder that you do not need to choose between nurturing and fierceness.

  • This is a black & white ink drawing with painted gold detail on a white backdrop
